World Women Championships History

World Championships for women was played first time in 1963 in Cuernavaca and Mexico City, Mexico. This championships was played as combined championships with men and women.

10 countries participated in women’s events with 38 female players.

Since 1963 there have been 16 World Championships for women. Four times (2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011) there have been seperate championships for women only.
